Cloudcub is the creation of FilTig and Thom Dinas, producers and musicians in London’s underground scenes since the early 00’s, working under various names and with different artists, based in Hackney. Together, and later with the addition of bass magician/ multi instrumentalist Dudu (Kat Vipers, One More Grain, Diskoboy) and Maria “Dalot” (n5MD, Resonance FM) shaped the sound of a live electronica band. Their first full length record, the emotionally powerful and deeply melodic “Friendly Warning” is here. Mixing elements of Post Rock, Shoegaze, Electronica, and trip hop, and influenced by the diverse cultural backgrounds of the area they have created music with odd time signatures, organic live instruments, beautiful sing along melodies. “Friendly Warning”, is the debut album. It’s a refreshing take on the post electronica, ambient scene. In turns melancholic and sweet it bridges and reaches the gaps between cinematic post rock (Labradford, Mum) and melodic electronica (Plaid, Boards of Canada) and experimental. With child like vocals/ lyrics this is the music to daydream to.
