Dalot is the project of Grecian electo-acoustic artist Maria Papadomanolaki. The Flight Sessions EP is the sum of six compositions loosely based around the theme of a bird’s eye view of different small instances of everyday life in New York City where she currently takes residence. It captures such sonic ambiences as floating clouds on a misty night, the moving landscapes as seen from a train, the twinkling magic of a view from a hill at night or the rise of the sun on that very special morning. The Flight Sessions EP incorporates ambient haze, field recordings, electronica's more esoteric backbone, and a thoughtfully sparse use of the guitar and bass for the creation of a subtle but immersive whole. CooRecords boasts "Expect to go on a journey to your most inner beautiful hideaway". We agree whole heartedly and highly recommend this release from an artist worth keeping an eye on.
